About Me

My photo
marika von zellen
I earned a BA in English and Creative Writing from Cornell College. My writing involves close studies of the disconnect between humans and their motives for starting, engaging in, and ending relationships with both the self and with others. My characters’ motives, like ours, are not always good, and expressing their imperfections is a challenge I find most lovable. I've had poetry and fiction published in Open Field and Temporary Infinity, and recently attended the Grin City Collective Artist Residency in Iowa. Besides writing, I enjoy playing piano, theoretical physics, traveling, ghost hunting, the Cuban Revolution, climbing trees, 3rd Wave Feminism, and good red wine. I'm a proud scholar of Lewis Carroll.
